Hello Madison Corps Alumni Subscriber,
We haven't heard from you regarding our Ireland participation interest survey, which was due September first. We updated our survey to accept only Yes or Unsure options to streamline the process, so you may have seen it but didn't answer because you were not interested. Before eliminating that NO option, we heard from four alumni. We are including those four in this email, too.
That said, we want to reach out to each of you, individually, to see what you would like us to do with your paid subscription. Regardless of your interest, please read on.
Last time, we were planning a wonderful experience in California that never panned out (twice). So this time, we wanted to make sure that whatever event we plan to do together, we wouldn't have to walk through fire planning an event while hoping we would be accepted. Life is too short.
So we sent out a survey with future options that alumni recommended. After a large majority of alumni chose the St. Patrick's Day event in Ireland from a survey of five (5) potential future events, we made sure we were accepted before spreading the word. Yes, we are accepted for the group's top choice, Ireland in 2028!
So far, we've heard from ninety-six (96) existing paid subscribers.
We have not heard from fifty-four (54), which means you are either one of them or one of the four saying NO.
Affordability is understandable, but limited time is something to consider, too. For a few of us more mature folks, opportunities are becoming fewer and farther between, especially as we age and our health inevitably changes. If by chance, you're just learning about this project, it doesn't mean you've missed the chance to perform in Ireland. At the same time, you may not want to participate.

Thank you,

Madison Corps Alumni Member,
Thank you for completing our survey. With only a few hours left for others to express interest in the 2028 Ireland St. Patrick's Day parade performance, we want to make sure we're doing everything we can to get the word out.
In life, we can often only reminisce about our drum corps days as time and other life responsibilities carry us further away. These projects are somewhat of an exception, because we're doing something familiar with familiar faces, or maybe it's someone new with a similar past drum corps personality who might unexpectedly conjure warm memories of someone we remember.
We've done a few of these projects through the Madison Scouts Alumni Reunion Project group, so we know alumni often get left out of the loop until it's too late. We're just too spread out over distance and time.
That said, we're hoping you can help us. How? Think of past friends you performed with, and try to connect with them to see if they've heard about this opportunity. If we're lucky, they have, and better yet, sent us their survey as well. If not, you can help get the word out before the September 1st deadline.
Here are a couple of approximate group facts to help us understand ourselves:
Thanks again for considering another alumni drum corps journey and for helping us get the word out before next Tuesday,
Scott, Craig, and David

We still want to give this group the chance to make wonderful memories doing what we all love, so we'll meet this fall to discuss potential opportunities. That being said, we would also like to hear your suggestions. While we welcome all ideas, please note that we are focusing on performances that don't involve pit equipment and require minimal rehearsal time for our unique project. We are open to considering local, regional, national, and even international opportunities. Continue to send us your ideas.
